Structures and cladding supports Penthouse

Studio Libeskind

The residences designed by Studio Libeskind employ a classic courtyard configuration and naturalistic materials typical of a historic Milanese neighborhood, while featuring an asymmetrical layering of the façade. The residential buildings are located along the perimeter of the site to the south and rise towards the park to the north.
The façades are clad in a finely textured light gray tile, developed for the project by Italian tile company Casalgrande Padana. Undulating outdoor spaces create a rhythmic pattern and are wrapped in brise soleil, made from a new, highly sustainable wood composite material. Each building is crowned by double-height penthouses, conceived as villas, with generous terraces, luxury finishes and views of the city. Each of these “villas in the sky” has a completely unique geometry that accentuates the tops of the buildings, integrating the large structures into the large and varied surrounding urban fabric.
The complex of five buildings gently unfolds around an open courtyard with interwoven pedestrian paths that connect the street, the park and an underground car park. Conceived as an outdoor living room for residents, the courtyard offers a tranquil space protected from vehicular traffic that moves in a ring around the edges of the site, allowing direct access to the double-height lobbies and leading to private parking bays.
The Residences utilize cutting-edge design and are certified by the Italian building energy classification (Class A+ – CENED). Sustainable features include, but are not limited to, thermo-regulated radiant ceilings, energy-efficient programmable heating and cooling systems, high-tech insulation, sustainable tiles, composite wood brise soleil and photovoltaic cells on the roof to generate and store electricity.
