Construction of Core spiral staircases complete with glass parapets, stainless steel handrails and Alucobond coverings
MCA - Mario Cucinella Architects
Designed by the mca -mario cucinella architects studio and the international studio of landscape architect Michel Desvigne, the complex offers a new lifestyle in terms of comfort and well-being, safety and eco-sustainability: a “garden city” in which residences, offices and commercial spaces coexist, in a perfect union between architecture and landscape.
The first batch of buildings extends along the north-south axis of the block for a total of approximately 500 apartments, all characterized by the presence of abundant natural light and generous private outdoor spaces, such as loggias, terraces and glass greenhouses.
On the first floor, the buildings are connected by a charming elevated pedestrian promenade overlooking the various glass condominium halls and shared common areas: living areas, kitchens, multipurpose and co-working rooms, gym, laboratories and children's play areas, all spaces designed with the aim of encouraging social relations between the inhabitants and creating a real new community of people.
“20 square-based volumes are distributed on the first residential component (north-south) positioned on different alignments and rotation planes” – we read in the project report by mca – mario cucinella architects – “so as to guarantee a compositional inhomogeneity of the fronts and optimize the view and orientation towards the new public park… The desire to graft an urban landscape system derives from the great attention that has been dedicated to the design of collective spaces: in fact, they are easily identifiable and more significant than the private ones, interrupting their scansion and acquiring greater visual importance. Elements that were previously considered accessories, such as connection bridges, distribution spaces and private penthouses, become in the project the fulcrum of a collective life made of sharing common behaviors that define the very identity of the place”.
“The results obtained” – comments Edoardo De Albertis, CEO of Borio Mangiarotti – “make us continue to strongly believe in the potential of the Milanese residential market. We continue in our commitment, guided by our design philosophy: to promote real estate development operations without neglecting attention to the territory in which we operate and the people who live there, with the aim not only of creating residences, but also and above all of building communities".
