The project involved the reorganization and conservative restoration of the historic Milanese theater and the former Ricordi hut, home to the Museo del Teatro alla Scala. In particular, the new construction work generated two volumes that tower over the structure: a cylinder, intended for services such as dressing rooms, rehearsal rooms, tailoring and ski lifts - naturally lit thanks to a new courtyard, created by demolishing part of the buildings on the lot - and a parallelepiped in which the new stage tower was created, behind two pre-existing water towers that were preserved. The new buildings communicate with each other thanks to the use of honey-colored Botticino, which is used differently: in the stage tower marked by small openings, it plays the role of cladding, as well as on the north front of the service wing (where it was crossed by vertical cuts); in the elliptical body, it becomes an integral part of the brie-soleil.
