Milan Linate Airport has undergone a major renovation process since July 2017, following the example of Terminal 1 in Milan Malpensa, which revolutionized its appearance and functionality. The project, carried out by SEA, the Group that manages Milan’s airports, has envisaged a total investment of 60.3 million euros until 2022. The first significant intervention is the redesign of the façade, designed by world-famous architect Pierluigi Cerri, which will be completed by April next year. The new façade will feature bright, white architecture, designed to be uniform and linear. White, chosen for its ability to reflect all colors, will allow the façade to change hue during the day, from the pink of dawn to the red of sunset. The large Linate sign has been relocated to the left, to make it more visible from afar, free from billboards. This first intervention, costing 8.3 million euros, of which 3 million for the facade, also includes the restyling of some internal areas of the airport, such as the arrivals area and baggage claim, with the installation of false ceilings and stoneware walls. In addition, the new Leonardo VIP lounge has been created, larger and located in a new area of the airport, to offer greater comfort to passengers. The elegant and discreet lounge will offer exclusive services such as high-speed Wi-Fi, newspapers and magazines, dedicated buffets, and much more.
