The “The Corner” project is an ambitious redevelopment plan for the Generali building, located on the corner of Viale della Liberazione and Viale Melchiorre Gioia in Milan. This building, dating back to the 1970s, is currently a complex complex that requires a new identity and substantial renovation.
The project includes several key actions to transform the building. First of all, a two-storey elevation will be built, which will add new spaces and improve the overall architectural harmony. In addition, all the facades will be completely redone, including the fronts towards the internal courtyard and those of the lower body, with the aim of modernizing the aesthetic appearance of the building and making it more welcoming.
Another significant intervention concerns the redevelopment of the ground floor, with the creation of new porticoes and a shelter along Viale Melchiorre Gioia, which will improve the usability and accessibility of the external spaces. New terrace spaces will also be created both on the roof and above the lower body inside the courtyard, offering additional outdoor environments and green spaces.
Particular attention will also be given to the redevelopment of the building's plant system, which will be enhanced with technologies that use renewable sources and high energy performance systems, with the aim of reaching energy class "A". The project also aims to obtain Leed Silver certification, which guarantees high standards of environmental sustainability.
Finally, the building will be adapted to the seismic and fire regulations currently in force, ensuring the safety of the occupants and compliance with modern regulations. "The Corner" therefore aims to give new life to a historic structure, transforming it into a modern, safe and energy-efficient building.
