The Sign is Covivio’s urban regeneration project that transforms the area of ​​the former Vedani Foundry, dating back to the 1950s, into a Business District dedicated to companies and the city. The Sign includes 4 office buildings: one of these will host the new headquarters of L’Oréal Italia starting in 2025, the other three already host the headquarters of the multinationals Aon and NTT DATA. Inside The Sing there is also a square open to the public named after Fernanda Pivano, green spaces for the community and a wide retail offer.
Over 40,000 square meters dedicated to change. The characterizing element of the project created by the Progetto CMR – Massimo Roj Architects studio is the SIGN, a common thread that visually unites the buildings and public spaces. The sign originates from the arrival of the pedestrian flow from the Romolo metro stop, crosses the buildings, the square and is expressed in a path defined by materials and traces of light in the pavement.
In the facades, the sign is found in the bright glass curtain wall that overlooks the interruptions of the metal ‘skin’. This single simple gesture holds the intervention together, stitches it back together with the context and makes it recognisable.
